One of the biggest attractions to Katy is the quality of education available from pre-school through college.
Katy Independent School District (KISD) is one of only 14 large districts in Texas (25,000 students or more) to earn a "Recognized" rating from the Texas Education Agency. It's one of only three to hold that distinction four years in a row.
Outstanding achievement in 2001 TAAS testing earned every campus in Katy ISD an "exemplary" or "recognized" rating for 2001-02.
In addition, there are several top private schools and public charter schools offering students a quality education from pre-school through high school.
A dual participation program between KISD and Houston Community College allows Katy students the chance to get a jump-start on a college degree.
Now serving the Katy area with more than 30 degree and certificate programs from its four universities, the University of Houston System at Cinco Ranch brings junior, senior and masters level courses days, evenings and Saturdays, with courses delivered face-to-face, by interactive video, and online.
All undergraduate programs partner with Houston Community College Northwest (providing freshman and sophomore courses), so that students can move seamlessly through their programs.
The University of Houston System is proud to provide higher education opportunities to Katy.
