About Matthew

Matthew Ferraro was named President/CEO of the Katy Area Chamber in April 2019. Matthew was formerly the Vice President at the Fort Bend Chamber. Has more than 12 years of experience within the nonprofit organization management industry. Matthew has completed the US Chamber Institute of Organizational Management at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, their premier four-year professional development program in 2017. Matthew has also completed the program Center for Chamber of Commerce Excellence at Texas A&M through the Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives in February 2023. He is currently pursuing a certification from the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives which is the highest certification attainable by a Chamber Executive. 

Matthew is a current Board Member and Governance Chair for the Texas Chamber of Commerce Executives and is also a former Vice President for the Gulf Coast Chamber Executives.

Prior to starting his career in the Chamber world, Matthew held an internship with the Bryan-College Station Convention and Visitors Bureau where he received his BS in Recreation, Parks, and Tourism Sciences from Texas A&M University in 2012.

Matthew has lived in Katy since 2017 and is married to his wife, Lauren. Together they have four children, Hudson, Branch, and twins Tate and Miles that keep them busy. You can find the whole crew on Sunday mornings at Parkway Fellowship Church in North Katy.

Key Chamber Responsibilities

Lead strategic planning process alongside Board of Directors to define immediate and long term plan for the Chamber.

Facilitate and develop the implementation of the mission, vision, strategic and operational plans.

Build and maintain relationships and open communications with membership and community leaders.

Support the development and expansion of a vibrant and innovative community for economic prosperity.

Ensure fiscal soundness, transparency and a balanced budget.

Attract and retain staff while supporting their growth through professional development and ensure participation in conferences and sessions as needed to develop and maintain the successful operation of the Chamber.
